Description
A ceramic vessel from the ‘Connected with Nature’ series. I create pieces in this series using clay and driftwood found on the shore. This vase also belongs to the line titled ‘Ancestors.’ While creating it, I contemplate my relationship with those who came before me. The piece was fired using the saggar firing method in a Hungarian kiln. This alternative firing technique allows for direct contact between the clay and live fire, resulting in incredible effects. However, it’s a technique where each piece is unique; it’s impossible to create two that are very similar. But I can make a vessel with a similar shape and feel.
